Bothasig MFMC Borehole Fund Initiative.

Dear Members

The effects of the drought have left our fields, both Football and Baseball in a sorry state. The predications are even worst, with the City of Cape Town introducing stage 4 restrictions as from 1 June. With over 500 sports complexes to take care of, the assistance they will provide is minimal. We will have to help ourselves, if we want to save the sports fields in our Community. The estimated cost of a completed borehole is in the region of R130 000-00

  • Phase 1: Drilling to find water is complete.
  • Phase 2: Completion of the drilling with the installation of reinforced walls within the hole, which will commence on approval from City of Cape Town. We hope this will happen within the next week or two.
  • Phase 3: The installation of all associated utilities i.e. electrical, pump, tanks etc.

Moreover, there is a real possibility that as from 2018 we will be responsible for the payment of our own water account, with a good chance that the water restrictions will still be in place for the coming summer season and for at least another 2 years. This makes it imperative that we complete the installation of this borehole. In order to cover the cost of this project we will be organising numerous fund raising events. In the short term in order to get this project completed as soon as possible, we are asking you the member to make a personal contribution towards this project. Time is of utmost importance so PLEASE consider this request favourably.  All donations no matter how small will be greatly appreciated. At a later stage all those who contribute to this note worth cause will be recognised by the club.
