Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of Bothasig AFC, will be held on Thursday 1 December 2016 at the Cross Bar, Abe Sher Sports Complex at 19h00 sharp.
Notice of any amendments to be proposed at the AGM, other than ordinary business shall be lodged with the secretary at least 7 days before the date fixed for the AGM, and shall also be posted on the notice board of the Club.

1 MANAGEMENT
1.1 The officials and Management Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Committee), shall be elected annually, and shall be eligible for re-election. No person not personally present at the annual general meeting shall be elected to the Committee unless they have advised the secretary in writing prior to the AGM, of their willingness to accept nomination. Furthermore executive committee members i.e. chairperson, vice chairperson, secretary, treasurer, Club captain, Club Honorary Life President and President can only be nominated and seconded by members in good standing who have been club members for a minimum of 5 years consecutive.
1.2 The entire management and control of the Club shall be vested in the Committee, which shall be elected at the AGM, and shall comprise the following:
Chairperson
Vice Chairperson
Junior Chairperson
Treasurer
Secretary
Club Captain
PRO – Public Relations Officer
Six (6) Additional members
The Committee shall hold office until the conclusion of the next AGM of the Club. If an election does not take place for any reason, the existing Committee shall continue in office until the next election.
1.3 Vacancies occurring on the Committee shall be filled at the first ensuing General Meeting – if deemed necessary by the Committee. A member appointed to fill the vacancy shall hold office for the unexpired portion of office until the next AGM.
1.4 Nominations for the position of Chairperson and Vice Chairperson, unless they are a retiring Chairperson or Vice Chairperson, shall be in writing by two bona fide members of the Club and shall be accompanied by acceptance of such nomination by the candidate in writing. All nominations shall be delivered to the Secretary not less than eight (8) days prior to the AGM.
1.5 Should the position of Chairperson become vacant, the Senior Vice Chairperson shall become the Acting Chairperson. In the event of the Vice Chairperson becoming the Acting Chairperson and ceasing to act as such, for whatsoever reason, the Committee shall from its members elect an Acting Vice Chairperson. The members so elected shall hold office on the same terms as the member whose position he assumes.
1.6 If the number of members nominated does not exceed the number to be elected, the members so nominated shall be declared elected by the Chairperson at the AGM. If the number of nominations exceeds the number to be elected, the elections shall be by means of show of hands.
2 COMMITTEE MEMBERS VACATING THEIR POSTIONS
A member of the committee shall vacate his seat:
2.1 Upon his/her suspension or expulsion from membership of the Club.
2.2 On failing to attend two consecutive meetings without first having obtained leave of absence.
3 EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
An executive committee comprising the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson (senior and junior), Treasurer, Secretary and Club Captain shall be competent to conduct the affairs of the Club between committee meetings provided that all actions and decisions made shall be reviewed at the following committee meeting.
20.2 QUORUM
The quorum for any annual, special or general meeting shall be five (5) Committee members plus twenty five (25) members in good standing. If, after thirty (30) minutes of the commencement time of the meeting, no quorum is present, the meeting shall stand adjourned for seven (7) days at which, after due notice has been given, the members present shall form a quorum.
