Emelia, 14, has recently been selected as a member of the South African Football Association Girls U15 team. Emelia attended a national training camp over the weekend 11 to 13 April 2014 where trials were held in Johannesburg. The SAFA Girls U15 Team was selected by newly appointed Banyana Banyana coach Vera Pauw.
Emelia is currently a player for Bothasig Ladies First Team under the coaching Carl Phillips. Emelia joined Bothasig Ladies when she was only 12 years old in 2012. Emelia plays as a striker and despite her age is an integral player in the team, which she helped guide to the Ladies Cup Final in 2013, where Bothasig were the runners up. Emelia won the Golden Boot in 2013 as she was the top goal scorer in her team.
In June 2013, Emelia competed in an international U15 football tournament held in Brazil, where she was the only girl in the squad, managed by Jose Cabral.
