We traveled to Clyde on Saturday looking to get back to winning ways. As usual we started slowly and struggled to get into the game as the opponents began like a house on fire! We could easily have found ourselves behind early in the game as they twice hit the wood work although Rory O’Brien did well to get finger tips on both attempts. We really struggled in midfield in the absence of Mustapha Moses but continued to gain a foothold in the game.
The game changed on its head when new signing Ismaeel Stanfield scored a fantastic 6 minute hatrick which all but knocked the wind out of Clyde’s sails. 3-0 at half time and we really thought the 2nd half would be one way traffic.
To their credit, Clyde continued to press us but once Yuziriek Bester settled (he’s first game back after 3 months), we started to really take command and duly got the 4th goal via Ishaam Ismail which sealed the winand the 3 points.
Certainly not our best performance but the 3 points are vital.
Next week we play Meadowridge at home in the Knock Out.
